On 7th February, the Lib Dem run Cabinet at Elmbridge Borough Council are due to vote on a proposal from ‘Vital Village’ to take over the management of Thames Ditton Centre for the Community. This proposal does not include any provision for Dementia Services which operate out of the centre.

I was recently down in St John’s in Walton to help clean up the green on St John’s Drive. I know there has been an ongoing issue with litter in this area, so I have been in contact with PA Housing to ensure they keep on top of emptying the bins and clearing up the area.
 

This conservative government has set out a clear plan to get 3.5 million people across the country active by 2030, including one million young people. It is important that people of all ages have access to high-quality sports facilities to stay active and healthy.

It was great to catch up with Chandlers Field School Pupil Parliament for a Q&A following their tour of Parliament.

The pupils asked some really thoughtful questions from how Parliament works, to where MPs eat their lunch!

Our Plan for Esher and Walton constituency includes helping people with the cost of living, so it was useful to catch up with the team at Esher CAB to hear more about the valuable work they are doing to support people in Esher and beyond.

To mark Holocaust Memorial Day, it was an honour to sign the Holocaust Education Trust’s Book of Commitment on behalf of Esher and Walton constituency.

This week, the Royal Air force carried out a second wave of strikes against Houthi military targets in Yemen following an ongoing threat from the Houthis to UK commercial and military vessels and to those of our partners in the Red sea and the wider region.

I enjoyed joining Ray Hole and the team at Elmbridge Sports College (formally Walton Casuals Football College) for the launch of the new multi-sport College.

Following our campaign to improve outcomes for PA Housing tenants, it was good to catch up with Chief Executive, Michael McDonagh, to hear what steps he and the new leadership team at PA Housing are taking to improve the service they are providing tenants.
