To support hard-working local families with the cost of living, we secured a £400 grant for all domestic energy customers, a £650 cost of living payment for those on low incomes, and a £300 cost of living payment for vulnerable pensioners in 2022.
We secured extra investment for our local hospitals. We will work to increase the number of GP appointments and reduce waiting times, and expand the range of care and services at our local community hospitals and GP practices.
To provide enough good and outstanding secondary school places for every family in Esher and Walton constituency, I helped deliver the permanent site for Cobham Free School in 2021, and will work to deliver Heathside Walton School on its permanent site in 2023.
Surrey Police has recruited 395 additional officers since 2019. 259 of these were recruited as part of the government’s manifesto commitment to recruit 20,000 additional officers, which was exceeded in March 2023.
Zone 6 already covers Thames Ditton and Hampton Court stations. We are working to extend it to other local stations. We will secure safer roads around our local schools, better facilities at local train stations, and get more potholes repaired.
To safeguard our local Green Belt from development, I successfully resisted higher housing targets for Elmbridge and will continue to press Elmbridge Borough Council to put a Local Plan in place – our best defence against over-development.
