It was great fun to visit the Royal Cambridge Care Home in East Molesey for their annual 'Stirring the Christmas Pudding' event.
Stirring the Christmas pudding is a tradition that dates back to the Victorian era, when families would gather and 'stir' their homemade Christmas pudding 5 weeks before Christmas. The pudding is traditionally stirred, whilst making a wish, from East to West to resemble the Wise Men that visited Jesus. The Royal Cambridge Care Home have marked this annual event for over 30 years.
Thank you to Chairman, Robert Dowler, and the whole team at the Royal Cambridge Care Home for inviting me along to take part!
