It was great to visit the Claygate Youth and Community Hub on Thursday evening – joining Katie Holmes, the Mayor, and Surrey County Council Leader Tim Oliver to open the hub’s new kitchen.
The kitchen has already been tried out by local young people making pizzas and cookies, and will help many more to learn important cooking skills. It’s part of a wider refurbishment of the building, which is allowing the hub to provide more regular activities for young people in the evenings – including football, basketball and arts & crafts.
The hub is a brilliant local asset, making a real difference to those who use it and an important contribution to the community. My thanks to Katie Holmes and the team of volunteers for all their hard work.
