Yesterday, the Prime Minister confirmed that we will move to “Step 4” of the Roadmap out of Coronavirus restrictions on 19 July.
On this date the majority of legal restrictions will be removed. This means that you will not need to stay 2 metres apart from people you do not live with, there will be no limits on the number of people you can meet, and the requirement to wear face coverings in law will be lifted.
It is important to remember that Coronavirus has not gone away. So, as we move from legally-binding regulations towards individual common sense, people still need to protect themselves. For example, this includes wearing face coverings in crowded and enclosed spaces.
As we take this next step, I encourage residents to continue to act carefully, remain cautious, and get both vaccine doses as soon as you can.
