On Friday morning, I paid a visit to Long Ditton Infant and Nursery School – a great local school with classes from nursery up to year 2.
After a tour of the school, I spoke to the year 2 assembly, explaining about being an MP, and answering their questions about my role. Next, I visited a nursery class and heard about their system for voting on a book to read each day. I then got the chance to read with them from the winning book!
Finally, I had a good meeting with Headteacher Monica Paines, Chair of Governors Lis Braybrook and other school leaders. My thanks to all of them for hosting me – and for their tenacity and resilience during the pandemic.
