It was a pleasure to attend the rededication of Stoke d’Abernon Memorial Park alongside the Cobham British Legion and Rev Phe Pamphilon-Green.
In 2020, the park, which is now a children’s playground, was discovered to be a war memorial site. This was after the Cobham Conservation and Heritage Trust unveiled that the Women’s Institute planted a grove of cherry trees in 1946 dedicated to local service personnel who lost their lives in the Second World War
Thank you to Ian Nelson and the Stoke d’Abernon Residents’ Association for organising the planting of replacement trees and the installation of two new benches and information boards.
