I have been campaigning for improved station accessibility at local train stations across Esher and Walton constituency.
I am pleased to see that progress is underway at Walton Station to build a new footbridge with lifts. This will really help people in wheelchairs, or those with heavy luggage, get from one side of the station to the other.
The main works will be taking place over the Christmas period to limit disruption as much as possible. The bridge will hopefully be in full service by Spring 2023.
These improvements are being funded by the government’s £390 million ‘Access for All’ Scheme.
You can see above the first artistic impression of what it will look like once complete!
There is still time to fill out my rail survey and have your say on rail improvements across Esher and Walton constituency: https://www.dominicraab.com/railsurvey.
