On Friday morning, I joined up with Ann from the Cobham Community Centre to help out with the local Meals on Wheels service. We dropped off lunches to some local clients in Cobham who, for whatever reason, aren’t able to get to the centre itself.
Meals on Wheels is important for making sure that people are getting a good meal, but also because many of those who have been isolated recently really value a good chat on the doorstep.
Once we’d finished the deliveries, we headed back the Cobham Community Centre to meet the wider team, including the manager Mark Mortimer and Rebecca De Lay, the Cobham Link Manager. This service supports people with learning disabilities, and it was good to meet some of those joining the Friday exercise class outside.
It was a real pleasure to spend some time with such an impressive team, working hard to support our local community.
