On Friday, I was in Esher to meet pupils and teachers at Claremont Fan Court School.
It was great to attend assembly – with a brilliant performance from the school choir – before talking to pupils about my role as an MP and in government. After this, the pupils grilled me on environmental issues and climate change, and I had an interesting tour of the school.
Finally, the pupils had the great idea of burying a time capsule in the school grounds, containing all of their questions around the environment and climate change. It was good to take part in this, and I’m sure that it’ll make a fascinating discovery for future pupils at the school.
Thank you to Cathy Marijnen at Claremont’s prep school for organising the visit.
