Providing good and outstanding secondary school places for every family

All secondary schools in Esher and Walton constituency are rated Ofsted 'Good' or 'Outstanding'. As part of Our Plan, we are increasing the number of good and outstanding secondary school places for local families.

Creating two new secondary schools

We supported the founding of Cobham Free School in 2011 under Wave 2 of the Conservative Government’s Free Schools programme. Since 2011, the school has undergone multiple expansions and now caters for 1,064 students.

Under Our Plan, we delivered the new Heathside Walton School on its permanent site in 2023. Heathside Walton will create 180 more places each year after 2023.

Drop-in surgery in Cobham

It was great to be at Sainsbury’s in Cobham on Friday for my latest drop-in surgery.

I enjoyed meeting residents and hearing their concerns on local issues including crime, housing, and healthcare, and taking questions on the Government’s exit strategy from the pandemic.

More investment in local hospitals

It is very good news that two of our local hospitals have received significant government investment to tackle important maintenance issues.

Preparing local A&Es for winter

In recent weeks there have been some very welcome funding announcements for local A&Es, which will help them to prepare for winter.

Update from South East Coast Ambulance Service

It was good to speak to Philip Astle and David Astley from South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) today. SECAmb responds to 999 and 111 calls across Surrey and the south east, and we have two of their ambulance stations locally, in Esher and Walton.
