Earlier this year, I wrote to all schools in Esher and Walton to invite them to take part in my first local Christmas Card Competition – giving pupils the chance to see their festive designs featured on my cards this year. It was brilliant to receive a great deal of creative artwork from schools across the constituency.
I’m delighted to announce that Daisy, in Year 5 at The Royal Kent School, was selected as the overall winner. Her design of Santa in a chimney is featuring on the front cover of all of my local Christmas cards.
Another excellent design, from Elsie in Year 2 at Long Ditton Infant and Nursery School, is the runner-up – with her design featuring inside this year’s cards.
It was great to award Daisy her prize when I visited The Royal Kent School recently. Elsie will also be receiving a prize soon, and certificates are on their way to scores of others who took part from across the constituency.
