I have been campaigning for improved station accessibility at local train stations across Esher and Walton constituency, so it was great to stop by Walton Station to see progress underway for the new footbridge with lifts.
This new bridge is being funded by the government’s £390 million ‘Access for All’ scheme, and will really help people in wheelchairs, or those with heavy luggage, travel across both platforms at the station.
Thank you to Jonny Nesbitt from Network Rail and Matthew Evans from South Western Railway for taking the time to show me around.
