Following on from my recent visit to Citizens’ Advice Esher, last week I went over to Walton to speak with the Citizens' Advice Elmbridge West team.
I heard from staff and volunteers at the Walton branch about their research into the impact of the cost of living on those going into rent arrears. We discussed how Elmbridge Borough Council’s delay in producing the Local Plan is hindering providing local housing stock for those that need it most.
I was briefed on the fantastic work the team are doing to help young people across Elmbridge, including offering work experience opportunities at Elmbridge West CAB. They told me about a young intern who helped work on their website, and now has secured a role at a top media firm.
