On Friday, I was in Hersham to visit Air Products – a leading global supplier of industrial gases such as hydrogen.
While Air Products is a global company, with over 19,000 employees, much of their European management function and significant elements of their global engineering capabilities are at the Hersham site.
During my visit, I heard about Air Products’ role in the world’s largest green hydrogen project in Neom, in Saudi Arabia. This project will deploy innovation to produce hydrogen and nitrogen, and then combine them to produce ammonia. Air Products will then transport this around the world, including to produce green hydrogen for the transportation market.
The Hersham site is playing a significant role in this venture – it was great to hear how a major international project is benefitting the local economy in Elmbridge. My thanks to Europe Public Affairs Director Ian Brass for arranging my visit.
