On Friday, I was in Thames Ditton visiting residents and staff at the Home of Compassion nursing home.
Social care settings like Home of Compassion have had a really tough time throughout the pandemic. Staff have worked incredibly hard to keep vulnerable residents safe, while the residents themselves have been unable to see family and friends for long stretches of time.
This is why it was so good to be able to visit on Friday. It was great to have a tour of the home, seeing its brilliant facilities, personally thank all of the staff for their exceptional efforts during the pandemic, and have a Q&A session with some of the residents.
My thanks to everyone at Home of Compassion for their warm welcome – and particularly to the staff for going above and beyond during Covid.
