On Friday I had a great visit to the Vaccination Centre in the Heart complex in Walton. It was cheering to hear that hundreds of local residents are receiving jabs there every day. Many thanks to George Roe, Chief Operating Officer of NW Surrey Integrated Care Service (NICS) who gave me a full tour of the hub. I enjoyed meeting those aged over 70 and clinically vulnerable residents who were getting their jabs and chatting to the NHS staff and volunteers there.
I want to pay tribute to the NHS staff, the army of volunteers and all those within Surrey Heartlands Clinical Commissioning Group for all their hard work and dedication in making the vaccination programme such a success.
I am pleased that Elmbridge, like the rest of the country, has reached the target of offering a first dose to the top four priority groups by today.
