It was great to meet up with John Szepietowski and Kay Stewart from Audley Chaucer solicitors on Friday, to discuss their work on setting up an Esher Chamber of Commerce.
We know from elsewhere in Elmbridge, such as Cobham, that a local chamber of commerce can be a big boost to the High Street and independent businesses. John and Kay have already put together an impressive business plan, and we discussed their ideas to ensure that the business community in Esher is well-represented.
It was also good to hear about their plans to promote civic spirit in the community, including by looking at how to mark Remembrance Sunday and the Christmas period.
I was very encouraged to see John and Kay taking the initiative in this way. I’m fully supporting their work on this, and look forward to seeing the chamber up and running.
