I was very encouraged to hear about a new campaign, ‘Health Legends’, which celebrates and shares the stories of people working in healthcare systems in the UK and abroad.
The campaign is supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, as well as Save The Children, and seeks to champion global health by communicating the stories of healthcare workers.
It was great to hear that Karim Saleh, who is training to be a pharmacist, is representing Elmbridge as a ‘Health Legend’ in the campaign and has been talking to local pupils about his experiences.
Karim has been working in a local pharmacy during the pandemic to support residents – a great example of the invaluable support that communities in Elmbridge have been receiving from healthcare workers this year.
I am very happy to support Karim and other ‘Health Legends’. You may see signs of this campaign locally, such as pin badges in Boots stores, and I would encourage residents to show your support.
