It was great to be back at Molesey Regatta on Saturday, after Coronavirus forced the cancellation of last year’s event.
The regatta, which dates from 1867, has always been a key date in the local calendar. This year was particularly special after the difficult time we’ve had over the past 16 months. Watching the races and presenting prizes, it was very encouraging to see the community able to enjoy the event (in a Covid-secure way).
Holding such a successful regatta, in current conditions, is no mean feat. My thanks to Ted Bates (Regatta Secretary), the umpires and the whole team at Molesey Boat Club for organising such a memorable event.
