
During today’s Security Update in the House of Commons, I called for Ministers to collate bespoke data on the number of convictions and prosecutions secured under the National Security Act 2023 – and issue quarterly updates to Parliament – so we can track the scale of hostile state action.
Parliament’s Intelligence and Security Committee should also be given a clearer systematic role in scrutinising the enforcement action – as section 93 of the 2023 Act envisages.
