Last week, the Boundary Commission for England published its initial proposals for changes to parliamentary constituencies. This is happening to equalise the number of voters in each constituency. The changes are to come into effect for the next General Election, and the House of Commons will still have 650 MPs.
There are a few proposed changes to Esher and Walton. The constituency would retain 12 of the wards it currently has, but Cobham & Downside would be moved into a new proposed constituency – Weybridge & Chertsey – to the West. There would also be some changes to the Esher and Walton boundary near Whiteley Village and Burwood Park.
