I had a valuable meeting on Friday with local Residents’ Associations across Elmbridge - from Long Ditton to Cobham.
We had a good discussion about how to go about local planning in Elmbridge, and there was a striking amount of consensus - particularly on the need to protect the Green Belt.
The major issue in Elmbridge at the moment is the Local Plan, which has unfortunately been delayed again by the borough council. I made the case for more collaboration and real grip to finally get a plan in place as soon as possible – to protect the Green Belt, and build the right homes, in the right places, to the right quality.
My thanks to Grahame Cooke, from the Thames Ditton and Weston Green Residents’ Association, for bringing these groups together, and the useful discussion.
