New temporary timetable on South Western Railway

Local residents will know that the Omicron variant has caused disruption in many areas of life, including the travel sector.

This week South Western Railway have announced that, due to staff shortages caused by the variant, a temporary, consolidated train timetable will be introduced from Monday.

The frequency of some services will reduce under the new timetable. The Basingstoke to Waterloo service for example, which runs through stations including Esher, Hersham and Walton, will be reduced to hourly.

SWR have said that this temporary timetable is intended to ensure reliability for passengers, and will remain under constant review.

Residents can see the full detail of these timetable changes here – and as ever, please feel free to contact me with any concerns.
