It was great to speak to Andrew Lohmann, Michelle Mitchelson and Harry Bird from Keltbray, a major construction engineering business headquartered in Esher this afternoon – their apprenticeships are in engineering and business administration. They embody what National Apprenticeship Week is all about – celebrating the brilliant work done by apprentices across the country, and the opportunities that apprenticeships provide. A big thank you to Holly Price, Skills and Communities Director at Keltbray, for setting up and hosting the meeting.
The government is supporting employers to take on more apprentices, including by offering up to £2,000 for each new apprentice hired, so more people can benefit from the experience that Andrew, Michelle and Harry have had.
