Over 20,000 new police officers have been recruited since 2019.
We have exceeded our manifesto commitment to recruit 20,000 new police officers in England and Wales. Figures published today show that almost 21,000 new police officers have now been recruited since 2019.
Locally, there are now more police officers in Surrey Police than ever before in the force’s history – and 490 more than there were in 2010. This means record numbers of officers are working to keep Esher and Walton constituency safe.
Surrey Police has recruited 395 additional officers since 2019. 259 of these were recruited as part of the government’s manifesto commitment to recruit 20,000 additional officers.
