Last chance to save the Cecil Hepworth Playhouse

Cecil Hepworth playhouse

Despite 6,000 residents signing a petition to stop the closure of the Cecil Hepworth Playhouse, Elmbridge Borough Council are abandoning the famous 19th Century venue and seem to have no interest in protecting its heritage.

The Lib-Dem led coalition at Elmbridge Borough Council has voted against giving the Playhouse Group a further two years of support to help the venue become financially independent. This vital lifeline would give a community-led group the time needed to take over management, repair the neglected building, and become financially self-sustaining.

Now the future of the Cecil Hepworth Playhouse is more uncertain than ever.

Sign the petition today to tell them you disagree.

Tackling illegal moorings in Molesey and Walton – campaign win!

Thursday, 2 February, 2023

After much resistance, Lib-Dem run Elmbridge Borough Council (EBC) have finally accepted my proposal to introduce a PSPO to tackle illegal moorings along the Thames. They will be considering a consultation with residents on the introduction of a PSPO later this year.
