On Friday, I headed over to St Alban’s Catholic Primary School in East Molesey, for an important meeting on road safety outside the school.
I’ve been in contact with Martin Brannigan, the Headteacher, about the challenging traffic issues faced by the school, where high levels of speeding have created a dangerous environment for the pupils arriving in the morning.
This meeting brought together the school, councillors, and various officers and specialists from Surrey County Council (SCC), to look at what traffic calming measures can be put in place to make the road safer – particularly during the busy drop-off time.
I’m keen to make swift progress on this issue, so will keep in close contact with both the council and the school in the coming months. My thanks to Duncan Knox from SCC (pictured) for organising the meeting.
