I recently met with local residents in West Molesey to inspect the condition of playgrounds in the area.
I later joined in on a litter pick to help keep our parks and local amenities – including the Molesey War Memorial - free of rubbish.
My visit follows from a petition and letters to the council as part of a local campaign backed by over 500 Molesey residents which I am supporting.
In April, I wrote to Elmbridge Borough Council on behalf of concerned parents whose children frequent the parks. The Council confirmed they will carry out a programme of restoration on the parks, replacing and renovating some of the equipment there, and aim to finish this work by March 2023.
However, residents want to see improved amenities – including more accessible play equipment better provision for children of all ages - across the four Molesey parks.
With two young boys of my own, I share in these concerns. I am eager to see these sites urgently improved for children across the Molesey community.
Thank you to Samantha for showing me around.
