Last week, I dropped into Esher theatre to meet Charlie Swift - owner and creative director of the theatre - and to hear how the venue, which sits on the former site of Elmbridge King George’s Hall, is thriving following its grand opening in 2021.
We talked about how the venue is going from strength to strength as audiences return following the pandemic, and I heard about the theatre’s ambitions for 2022.
The team at Esher Theatre have planned a full programme of shows and events for the months ahead, including their ‘Rock for Ukraine’ fundraiser for Ukrainian refugee charities on 27 April, and the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Street Party – with live music and food and drink stalls - on 5 June.
As resident of Esher, I think it’s fantastic to have this exciting venue on our doorstep. I would like to thank Charlie and the team for showing me backstage last week and I look forward to visiting again soon.
