The local vaccination programme is making considerable progress. The latest data show that over 155,000 doses have been administered in Surrey, including at the Emberbrook Health Centre in Thames Ditton and The Heart Centre in Walton. I’m looking forward to visiting these centres soon to see the progress and thank the staff and volunteers for all their hard work.
Nationwide, over 12.6 million people have received at least one dose, including 92% of the over-80s, 96% of 75-79 year olds and 77% of 70-74 year olds. You can keep track of the number of first doses given using the new vaccination tracker on the homepage of this website.
There has also been an important development this week. People aged 70 and over who have not yet been vaccinated are now being asked to contact the NHS to arrange a vaccination. There is information on how to do this on the website of the Surrey Heartlands CCG, here. For most people, it remains the case that you should not contact the NHS proactively to ask about receiving a vaccination.
