First thing on Friday morning, I held the latest breakfast gathering of my local business group, Connect. This was a great occasion, as it was the first in-person meeting we’ve had since the start of the pandemic last year.
Meetings of Connect are invaluable because they keep me in touch with the local business community – making sure I have their perspective on important issues, and giving me an opportunity to update them on government policy and what I’m doing locally.
On Friday, we had a good discussion on the economic recovery and people returning to offices, and I gave attendees an overview of my priorities in my new role at the Ministry of Justice.
My thanks, as ever, to Mike Cumper for arranging the meeting.
