Earlier today, I had a useful catch up (via Zoom) with Damian Tucker, the headteacher of St Lawrence Church of England (Aided) Junior School in East Molesey.
Damian updated me on the school’s campaign to have road safety measures, including a pedestrian crossing, introduced on Church Road. There have been some worrying accidents on the road in recent years, so I fully support this call by the school, parents and the local community. I have been working with Damian and Surrey County Council on this and look forward to pressing ahead with it this year.
Of course all of our local schools have had to return to remote learning during the national lockdown, so it was also good to be able to thank Damian and the team for their hard work. They and all teachers across the borough are doing a great job.
