Strengthening local NHS services

We are delivering a record £166 billion funding per year for the NHS by 2024/25, including money for 5,000 extra hospital beds than previously planned and 800 more ambulances, to discharge more hospital patients and clear the pandemic backlog.

As a result, there are now 19% more patient care staff practicing in GPs in Esher and Walton constituency than before the pandemic. Local GP surgeries – such as Glenlyn Medical Centre – are adopting new technologies to triage patients quickly, ending the “8am rush” for doctor’s appointments and helping bring waiting times down.

Locally, we will continue to work to increase the number of GP appointments and reduce waiting times by supporting the redevelopment of Molesey Hospital, and by expanding the range of care and services at our local community hospitals and GP practices.
